Hydrophobicity and watertightness: Silicone rubbers are water-repellent materials. The contact angle of a drop of water on a smooth silicone surface is approx. 130 °C. This means that textiles coated with silicone are not wetted by water.
UV and weather resistance: Silicones have an exceptionally high UV resistance.
