Adhesives / sealants
RTV-1 silicone rubbers are one-component, ready-to-use RTV systems. They consist of polydimethylsiloxane, crosslinker, filler and auxiliaries. After application, crosslinking starts with the release of cleavage products when atmospheric moisture enters. It starts on the surface of the applied silicone rubber, forms a skin and gradually continues into the interior of the compound. Depending on the type of crosslinker, small amounts of an amine, acetic acid or a neutral compound, e.g. alcohol, are released during vulcanization. Due to their ideal properties, RTV-1 silicone rubbers solve numerous sealing, bonding and coating problems. Their excellent resistance to weathering and aging results from their special chemical properties.
